April & May at Rebecca Rose Events

Hello friends and happy last day of May! Is it possible that yet another year is flying by us?  This spring sure has been busy around here! Since baby Piper’s arrival and the start of Becca’s maternity leave, our team has been busy working on some pretty fun projects and things haven’t slowed down one bit. Many of you have asked what we’ve been up to, so this week I’m sharing a quick peek at what’s been happening since April….

UNCSA NEXTNOW

What fun we had working with our brilliant friends and talented artists at University of North Carolina School of the Arts to produce the first annual NextNow event on April 30th! This year’s annual scholarship fundraising event was hosted at the Benton Convention Center following the inaugural performance of the School of Music’s “Collage” concert. Our event design was inspired by the conductor’s description of the concert as “colorful burst and rapid succession to create a mosaic of talent.” The reception was filled with alternating table linens in geometric patterns and colors, corresponding color floral arrangements and beautiful lighting giving the illusion of being inside a kaleidoscope. Guests were delighted with music from the student jazz ensemble and surprise performances from student opera singers performing in the round. It was such a fun, inspiring event and we were honored to work alongside some very talented artists. Be sure to follow along with the great successes at the school via UNCSA's hashtag #wecreatehere.

REBECCA ROSE CREATIVE PROJECTS

At the beginning of May, Nicole and I ventured to Virginia for an intimate wedding celebration that our team designed and styled through our sister company, Rebecca Rose Creative. The weather that week was absolutely lovely and the azaleas were in full bloom all over North Carolina and Virginia. If you’ve never been to Primland, it’s worth the long winding trip up the mountain- especially in the spring. It is stunning! This remote destination was the perfect spot for a wedding celebration for 14 people. I’m not going to share too much more about this lovely wedding because Erika and Tom’s celebration deserves an entire post and I promise to share it with you over on the RRC blog soon! In the meantime, enjoy these quick sneak peeks from Perry Vaile Photography

We've also been busy working on some exquisite custom paper goods and invitation suites for several RRC clients.

#JESSGETSAPEDDI

In mid-May our team packed up again and hit the road for destination wedding #3 of the season and a very fun spring floral design project- hello peonies! On May 14, our former intern (Summer of 2011!), friend and amazing industry partner Jessica married her best friend Zack in Knoxville, Tennessee. You can read more about Jessica’s wedding planning experience that she shared on the Southern Weddings blog: The Proposal, Choosing a Wedding Planner, Choosing a Wedding Photographer, Shopping for a Gown, Knoxville Wedding Venues, Attire and Colors, The Registry, The Details, The Cake, The Flowers, Bridal Style, Wedding Week.  We can’t wait to share LOTS more about this wedding but for now you’ll have to hang tight!

MEET DEVIN

Nicole and I are thrilled to introduce our wonderful new student intern, Devin Brown.  She has been working with us since the beginning on May and we absolutely love her! Be sure to come back on Thursday as Nicole officially introduces her!

This week our team will be busy producing a pretty spectacular celebration in an iconic building downtown Winston-Salem while simultaneously packing up to leave for Lake Tahoe in less than a week! My, how time flies when we are having fun!! Be sure to come back next week, as I can’t wait to share lots more!  This is just the beginning….

Cheers to the start of summer!
