Intimate Autumn Wedding at SECCA

Erica & Will

Photography by Ally & Bobby | southeastern center for contemporary arts

Erica and Will exchanged their vows lakeside, against a backdrop of autumn foliage, sprawling kudzu vines, and the loveliest early evening sunset on the grounds of SECCA, the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art. Two things made this venue so meaningful to them: (1) Erica used to teach art classes at SECCA before pursuing her art career in California with her fiancé, and (2) these two love kudzu. It was quite literally the perfect setting. With a guest list of no more than 50, we designed a beautiful tented dinner party on the rear veranda. Dinner service incorporated Spanish tapas style hors d’oeuvres, and paella with family style service in a nod to Erica’s Colombian heritage. After dinner, Will surprised his new in-laws by kicking the party into high gear with salsa dancing he had been learning and practicing! From start to finish, this day was filled with the kind of love and laughter that can only really be shared between the closest of family and friends. What an absolutely perfect November day.

what people said:

I should tell you that on Erica’s wedding day I awoke thinking, “This is to be a remarkable day.”  I really had no idea how its choreography would play out.  And I had no idea or expectation that it would be a perfect day -- but it was.  We thank you, and everyone who you brought into the project, for making it happen.
