We're Going to Support the Equal Justice Iniative - Will You Help Us?

Dear friends,

As a small creative business, we know that what we say matters. ⁣What we do matters. ⁣How we run our business matters. ⁣What we teach matters. ⁣It has always been a key tenant of our mission to serve with love, kindness, and inclusion - and to always enact that set of values with integrity.

And to that end, we’ve kept our heads down, and our ears and hearts open, as we’ve worked through the plans for what we’re doing as a company this year.

In late March, at the start of the pandemic, we decided as a team that we would commit to providing something special to our community this summer - specifically for wedding planners and designers - in a way that could be accessible to everyone, and easily affordable at a time when it feels harder than ever to invest in education - even though it is arguably the most important investment that any business owner or wedding pro can make right now. ⁣

And then George Floyd was murdered. And the world started to change in ways that are long overdue. Ways that are really only just starting to scratch at the surface of the depths of racism and social injustice. And we can’t - and won’t - turn a blind eye to the mission in front of us, and the ways we can help effect meaningful change. ⁣

Yesterday we announced to our RRE Method community and our social media following, that we’re going to do what we committed to do back in March, but our commitment will be bigger, bolder, and we hope - considerably more impactful.

Following the positive feedback after we hosted two successful Artful Wedding Production workshops in November 2019 and March 2020, we’ve decide to offer the first Virtual Artful Wedding Production Workshop for wedding planners and designers. This online learning experience will take place next month on July 7th and 8th.

The ticket cost is only $325, and we're going to donate 100% of the proceeds to the Equal Justice Initiative. The experience includes:

  • Two days of instruction

  • Six online sessions filled with robust content, creative community spirit, and ample time for insightful Q&A

  • And we're setting a big goal to raise $10,000 for the Equal Justice Initiative

The ticket price represents an incredible value. Even just with these six sessions, this virtual workshop content should be worth upwards of $1,800!

If you’re a wedding planner or designer, we invite you to join us! You can purchase tickets here.

If you’re not a wedding planner or designer, we still invite your participation and support in our effort to meet our fundraising goal. Here are a couple ways to do that:

  • Simply help spread the word! We invite you to use your social networks and community connections to make others aware of this opportunity. If you'd like to share about this on your social media channels, please get in touch and let us know!

  • Fund a scholarship to provide a ticket for someone to attend the AWP workshop - a $325 purchase will allow us to award a full scholarship to a deserving wedding industry professional, and every single penny of that will be donated to the EJI.

  • Consider a matching donation to the EJI (we'll work with you directly to coordinate details)

We believe wholeheartedly that together we can breathe life into the wedding industry and small businesses who have suffered this year.

We also believe that it’s important to put our money where our mouths are, and to walk the walk.

The Equal Justice Initiative works diligently to overturn wrongful prosecutions, free people who have been wrongfully accused from a fate on death row, and confront racism and social injustice in so many ways. Just imagine what $10k could mean... and what it could accomplish.

With love,

Becca, Betsy, Allison, Elizabeth, and Maddie
