Destination Wedding in Lake Tahoe, California | Brittany & Lincoln

I am so excited to finally share Brittany and Lincoln’s gorgeous Lake Tahoe destination wedding.

Brittany and Lincoln were married on June 10, 2016.  We couldn’t have asked for bluer skies or more perfect temperatures on their wedding day.  If you’ve never been to Lake Tahoe in the summer, oh my goodness, it is just the best!

I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this sweet couple.  We never actually met Brittany and Lincoln in person before the wedding weekend (and Becca still has yet to have the opportunity, since Piper was born just 2 months before). Seeing this couple for the first time during the wedding week was so much fun! After months of calls and emails, it felt like we had known it each other for years and we were just old friends excited to celebrate together.  There were so many tears of laughter and joy!

Brittany and Lincoln were so incredibly trusting of us throughout the planning process and deferred to our advice for venue selection and event design details.  Because of this trust, we felt like we were able to produce a really amazing plan and design for them.  After reviewing the budget and carefully thinking through what was most important to them, Brittany and Lincoln decided to have an intimate celebration with their closest family and friends, 46 total people. I have to say, that number felt just right on that June night!

The backdrop of Brittany and Lincoln’s heartfelt ceremony was the picturesque lake and its surrounding mountains. That same gorgeous scene with glowing golden sunset provided the perfect ambiance for an amazing dinner filled with joy and laughter.  The long wood dinner tables were positioned around the dance floor to provide an ideal view for the guests and each place setting was adorned with gold flatware and a clear acrylic dinner menu (our surprise for the couple). When Brittany and Lincoln first saw the dinner tables and where their guests would be celebrating, they both cried tears of joy.  It was the most genuine moment of love and appreciation and brought our entire team to tears too!

After the I-dos and a delicious dinner, the band kicked up the party music! Neither the bride or groom are particularly fond of dessert but the bride loves cheeses.  As Brittany put it, “I’d put cheese on everything, if I could.” It only seemed appropriate that instead of a traditional wedding cake, they opted for a “cheese cake” instead and I don't mean a traditional cheesecake! Their unique cake was just right for them and their guests all laughed and loved the late night bite of cheese and wine! The close group of family and friends kicked off their shoes and partied the night away on the dance floor.  Not a single person left before the last song, the perfect toast, and ending to a special evening.

After the wedding, we were able to surprise Brittany and Lincoln with the news that their wedding was going to be featured on the Destination I Do magazine's blog.  It was like reliving the excitement all over with them!  For me, I’ll never forget this wedding because it was the third destination project I did without Becca last year.  She was a brand new mom at home with her newborn daughter, tired, overwhelmed, in love with her new baby girl, and bummed to missed the lake views and mountain breeze.  Brittany and Lincoln’s wedding was a flight away from our home base and simply too far for a new momma to travel.  Designing flowers without Becca there wasn’t easy but it was worth it to hand Brittany her bouquet on the wedding day and see her smile and say, “Oh my goodness, that is so beautiful! Did you make this just for me? I can’t believe this is all for me and I’m actually getting married today!” Cue the tears… again!  Some of those moments, you’ll just never forget!
