A Destination Wedding at Old Edwards Inn in Highlands

Last summer we had the honor of producing a beautiful destination wedding experience in Highlands, North Carolina for Samantha and Mark. It is always a joy to return to the Old Edwards Inn’s family of properties! We kicked off the weekend with an intimate rehearsal dinner on Friday at the Springhouse where Sam, Mark, their families, and member of their wedding party enjoyed a casual bbq dinner following the ceremony rehearsal.

Photographer, Hannah Forsberg, captured the entire weekend beautifully. We always recommend that our clients hire their photography team to be onsite for all official weekend events, as it not only allows them to document so many different moments, but it also provides more time to capture special portraits of the couple above and beyond the traditional coverage on the wedding day.

On Saturday, all of the wedding day festivities took place at the Farm at Old Edwards. We brought Sam’s love for white and blue flowers into the mix with almost every design element from the save the date to the custom invitation suite we created, to the welcome gift boxes. And of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to adorn the beautiful Orchard House with flowers for the late afternoon ceremony.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed tray-passed hors d’oeuvres and beverages at a cocktail hour al fresco in the fresh mountain air before proceeding inside to be seated for an elegant plated dinner service and dancing.

It was such a fun evening, full of laughter, toasting, dancing, and the type of post-pandemic celebration that everyone so desperately needed. We felt so honored to work with Sam, Mark, and both of their families to bring their vision for effortlessly joyful celebration to life.

This image below sums up so much of what we love most about wedding days… in those final evening hours in the last course at the dinner table, when glasses are raised to toast the couple, everyone is preparing to transition to the dance floor, and the candles are burning down as they illuminate the space with so much elegance.

We are grateful for the exceptional team of professionals who made this wedding possible:
