A Peek into the Studio Workspace at RRE

Working as a member of the Rebecca Rose team is an adventure. I think the best way to explain the dynamic of the team is to paint you a picture of our workspace. The studio is set up in a way that we all have very distinct work areas, and each of these spaces says a lot about our personalities and our style of work.

When you first walk into our studio and look to your right, you will see a large worktable. This is where Becca works. This is where all of the floral supplies are, where we gather for weekly staff meetings, and where (unfortunately) the mess is created during busy event weeks. This table is constantly riddled with linen swatches, paper samples, candle vessels, and so many post-it notes. Becca is our creative director, and she has the most amazing talent of pulling ideas and things together that you wouldn’t think would work together, and making them into something absolutely stunning. While at first glance her workspace may seem a bit messy and unkempt, Becca has a way of knowing exactly where everything is that she needs, and thrives in her seemingly disorganized space.

Brittany, our studio manager, has the desk directly in front of the door. She is by far the best person to have this desk, as she is the perfect person to greet each guest that walks in the door. She definitely brings a calming presence to the studio, and she keeps everything running smoothly. Seriously, I really think we would all be a mess without her. Her space is always clean, with very few things in sight. She is the keeper of all office supplies,  and if you are ever in need of printer ink, stamps, more staples, or double sided tape, she’s your girl.

The back room has just recently become Betsy's and my workspace. This is also where most of our in-studio storage space is, so we work amongst past client paper goods, in-progress assembly projects, and our surplus retail items. We have done our best to make the space cute and cozy, and I think we have done a pretty good job! My desk is (for the most part) organized, clean, and clear of all clutter. When you look over at Betsy’s desk, there are at least two water glasses, a coffee mug, a small bowl of red starbursts, and a large stack of receipts. It isn’t what you would say is “unorganized” as much as it is well-used. Betsy puts in long hours at her desk sending emails, making calls, and occasionally, turning around and nagging me. ;) Betsy is a bit all over the place when it comes to her thought process. We will be talking about the band for one wedding, then all of a sudden the conversation has shifted to rentals for a completely different wedding. And somehow, I know exactly what she is talking about, how we ended up there, and the answer to her question. We work well together, since we work in similar manners.

While we all have very different work spaces, we all work in a way that makes sense to one another and in a way that works towards a common goal. We each have such important roles in each and every event that we put together, and that is what makes us such a wonderful team!
