Gratitude Series: RRE in the Press

Continuing along in our gratitude series, I'm excited to share a bit of insight into just how thankful we are for the opportunities we've had to collaborate with editors and see so much of our work featured in magazine spreads and books, as well as on industry blogs.

Over the years, we've celebrated every single time one of our clients' weddings is featured in the press. Not only do each of those occasions mean that our clients will have another incredible keepsake to share and cherish, but it also means that we've done our job well. (If you missed my post earlier this summer about why and how we employ an editorial approach to styling on a wedding day, go read it here. ) We've also celebrated when editorial inspiration we created is featured. Not every press feature is a real wedding, and sometimes we're developing content to be styled purely for an editorial purpose to provide inspiration to couples who are planning a wedding. Of all the many projects we've been privileged to take part in, perhaps the most special to us is our new print editorial in Southern Wedding's magazine's 10th anniversary issue, which officially hit news stands today!

As we shared this past summer, we spent two wonderful days with the Southern Weddings team and some incredible creative partners at the iconic Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. A lot of hard work went into this shoot and so many talented people were involved. It's one thing to dream up ideas and craft a creative vision, and it's another to actually execute it and bring it all to life. Editorial shoots are often as challenging (and exhausting!) as wedding days, and I think that's because we're so fully invested in the integrity of the project, with the same amount of sincerity and intensity that we are for our clients on their wedding days. So here's what we are grateful for:

To have been asked to design and style this editorial, and to have been entrusted with such an important responsibility;

To have been given such creative license, and supported at every part of the collaborative process;

To have been invited to have such special access to the Biltmore Estate. I think we experienced that magical property in a way that nobody really does. It was amazing;

To have met new industry friends, and developed stronger relationships with old friends;

To have been a part of a team focused on the same goal: to create unique and meaningful content to inspire others.

I'm going to share much more of this feature later this month, but for now here's a quick sneak peek. This image makes me profoundly happy and I am so ridiculously thankful. Grateful just doesn't begin to cover it.

If you had asked me 7 years ago what I would be doing in 2017, in my wildest dreams I probably won't have even thought to say "styling a shoot at the Biltmore" or "creating a bridal bouquet for a print editorial". Back then, I had no idea how far goals and dreams could carry this company. Countless press features later, I have to say, that it still feels surreal that editors - and readers - look at our work to be inspired. This year has been full of "pinch-me" moments and I must humbly admit that I am grateful for every single one of them.
