Who’s Coming to Dinner? Meet Brittany Lo, founder of Beautini and Beia

Photography by Allan Zepeda

If you are a female creative or entrepreneur, this is the blog for you. After a handful of events that included some international travel, we’ve  been dying to get back to our illustrative mock dinner party to share more of our favorite people, vendors and creatives with you and today’s guest is no exception.

Brittany Lo is a New York City based hair and make up artist who has built her company Beautini to one of the largest beauty teams in the nation. Prior to launching Beautini, Brittany worked in marketing for several well-known brands such as LOREAL USA, Redken 5th Avenue and Sony Music. She now manages a team of artists that supply high quality makeovers that are fun from weddings to corporate and girl gang gatherings! In June of 2021, she set out to create a new wellness company with products aimed at intimate, feel-good moments. Her brand, Beia Beauty has been featured in Cosmopolitan, BRIDES and Pop Sugar. Please welcome Brittany Lo to the table!

What are you bringing to our proverbial dinner party?

I am bringing a cake dessert of some sort! I have a major sweet tooth so if I am not hosting I like to bring over dessert of some kind to end the night on a sweet note! If I bring one of my cakes then you know I really like you! :)

What are you drinking?

A classic margarita for me please! Or if I am feeling spontaneous I usually just ask for “something vodka & fruity based” and see what I am surprised with!

What’s playing in the background?

A Pandora station called “Music for Studying Radio.” LOL! I love listening to calming instrumental music while I work to stay focused but also have good vibes in my work environment at the same time!

How do you and your team work in tandem with a luxury planner?

A big part of the wedding industry is relationships and building our relationships is how Beautini got to a place where we have the opportunities to work with the most luxury planners in the country/world. With this said, from our sales process to managing our clients and planner relationships, we take it very seriously and treat everything with a team mentality and communicate clearly our needs for a successful Beautini experience and make sure we understand their expectations and needs as well!

What’s one bridal makeup or hair trend that needs to go? (OR - what’s one trend you love?)

My biggest wish would be for brides to not want to go last in the beauty schedule for hair and makeup. There’s this perception that if you are done last the hair and makeup will be the freshest but often we want to set the hair in the beginning and times if any appointments run over earlier in the day it’s the later appointments that are rushed and the last person we want feeling rushed - is the bride.

A hair trend that I am loving is effortless soft waves and subtle clip in hair extensions to give volume and thickness to the look and glowy skin. Simple and effortless has become even more requested since the pandemic where everyone wore a lot less makeup.

We love how you branched out to create a product - we just did  that with the launch of our entertaining brand, Rebecca Rose at Home! What advice do you have for those other creatives looking for other revenue streams or brand opportunities?

That is so exciting, congrats on your product launch! I think for any business owner you understand how hard it is to start a business that you want to invest your time into something you are deeply passionate about and same thing with creatives, we do it because we love it and so it’s important to take the time to build a product you are obsessed with. With that being said, if the pandemic taught us anything it is that diversifying your revenue streams is essential. Whether it is a consumer product or a B2B platform that helps other creatives in some way, thinking of ways to diversify and grow the business is a strategy that will pay off in the long run.

RRE Note: We couldn’t agree more. If you’re curious or considering building a profitable business with multiple revenue streams, join us for our virtual Masterclass on July 21st. Tickets here.

What are four things in your purse?

Beia travel mist & refresh wipe because I smell really quickly, Sephora lip stain, Blistix chapstick and hopefully my wallet that has my keys attached!

Our heartfelt thanks to Brittany Lo, Founder of Beautini  for joining our blog series. We are so inspired by what a force you are - two female, minority-owned businesses!  If you want to learn more about Brittany’s beauty wellness brand that elevates self care to self love, visit @beiabeauty.
